Hold & Release: Yin Yoga + Cupping

  • YUG Wellness 23rd Avenue Astoria, NY, 11105 United States (map)

Hosts: Erika Ferrentino & Verónica Labrador Monteiro

Join us for a unique healing experience that combines the deep, meditative stretches of Yin Yoga with the therapeutic benefits of cupping therapy. This class is designed to help you release tension, improve flexibility, and promote overall wellness.

Yin Yoga focuses on slow, passive stretches that target the deeper connective tissues—ligaments, joints, and fascia. Poses are held for several minutes, allowing for a deep release that increases flexibility, calms the nervous system, and encourages a meditative state. Yin yoga helps balance the body’s energy, enhance joint mobility, and reduce stress.

Cupping Therapy is a traditional, safe, and non-invasive therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This suction helps to increase blood flow to the area, promote relaxation, and reduce muscle tension. Cupping is often used to relieve pain, improve circulation, and promote overall wellness. It works on deep muscle layers, helping to break up fascia adhesions and detoxify the body by enhancing lymphatic drainage.

Please note that cupping is a therapy that may leave marks on the skin, but it does not break the skin. The marks are typically circular discolorations that result from the suction created by the cups. These marks are temporary and usually fade within a few days to a week. While the marks may look intense, they are not painful and are considered a normal part of the cupping process.

Benefits of this Class:
