Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, Tayfun began his yoga journey in 2018, practicing on and off until finding a deeper commitment within the YUG community. As one of the studio’s earliest members, he was inspired by his wife Ana Coronell, also a teacher at YUG, whose path as a yoga instructor encouraged him to explore the philosophy and deeper meaning of yoga. This led him to complete his 200-hour teacher training at Daya Yoga, where he developed a strong connection to pranayama, sound therapy, and meditative practices like Yin yoga, all of which are now central to his classes.
In his classes, Tayfun creates a welcoming space for students to connect with their breath and explore self-care and inner awareness. Beyond yoga, he offers Acupressure Relief Therapy and Cupping, expanding his holistic approach to wellness and healing.
With a passion for the water, Tayfun is also a skilled swimming instructor, lifeguard instructor, and scuba diving instructor, as well as an avid sailor. As a dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, he brings a unique blend of mindfulness, movement, and resilience to his practice and teaching.
Tayfun is currently exploring Sufism, as well as advancing his studies with Science of Self Yoga, under the guidance of Rose Erin Vaughan, continually deepening his journey in yoga and wellness.
